Fourteen years after opening as a specialist SEO practice in Hyderabad, the agency behind 500+ brand growth programs takes a new name, folds Generative Engine Optimization into every SEO retainer as a standard deliverable, and enters a strategic partnership with GazeSEO to scale GEO and Answer Engine Optimization for clients. Across the active client base, 30 percent of traffic and revenue now arrives from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other AI answer engines.
Pyrite Technologies marked its 14th anniversary on August 21 with four announcements that together amount to the largest reset of the business since it was founded in 2012. The agency now operates under a new name, Pyrite Digital. Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) becomes a core, non-optional component of every SEO engagement it sells. And a newly signed strategic partnership with the AI search platform GazeSEO gives the agency the tooling to scale GEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) work across its client base.
The through-line across all four is the same argument: search has stopped being one channel with one set of rules, and an agency built for the old shape of it cannot serve clients in the new one.
Four Announcements, One Milestone
Everything below takes effect for clients immediately.
Fourteen Years of Growth
Founded on August 21, 2012 by CEO Matta Satish Kumar. Fourteen years on, the agency has scaled 500+ brands and 250+ global names across nine verticals.
Pyrite Technologies Becomes Pyrite Digital
A new brand name reflecting the evolution from an SEO shop into a full-service digital growth partner. Legal entities are unchanged.
GEO Included in Every SEO Service
Generative Engine Optimization is now a standard component of every SEO engagement. No separate line item, no optional add-on.
Official GazeSEO Partnership
A strategic partnership with the GazeSEO platform, positioning Pyrite Digital to scale client GEO and AEO programs on unified AI search tooling.
“Search did not evolve. It split in two. A brand that optimizes only for ten blue links is already invisible to most of the high-intent discovery happening today.”
Highlight 1: 14 Years, 4 Search Eras
The company traces its start to a single date. On August 21, 2012, Matta Satish Kumar founded Pyrite Technologies in Hyderabad as a specialist search engine optimization practice, and began the agency’s digital marketing journey with a handful of clients and a single service line. Fourteen years later to the day, on August 21, 2026, the firm marked that anniversary as a global digital marketing agency with a United States arm in San Jose, California.
Matta Satish Kumar, who leads the company as Chief Executive Officer, is widely recognized across India’s search industry as a veteran SEO and GEO specialist, having spent the full fourteen years inside organic search rather than moving between disciplines as the field changed around him. Under his leadership the agency has scaled more than 500 brands and over 250 global names across IT, finance, fashion, gaming, healthcare, travel, supply chain, and logistics. Client work has included engagements for Infosys, Finacle, EdgeVerve, OnMobile, CommonFloor, and LifeCare International. The firm has been featured in Forbes and was named SME Business of the Year in 2023.
“Fourteen years in this business teaches you one thing above all else. The agencies that last are the ones that move before the client has to ask. We have watched three search eras come and go since 2012: the link era, the content era, the intent era. This is the fourth, and it is arriving faster than any of them.”
Highlight 2: Pyrite Technologies Is Now Pyrite Digital
The company has adopted Pyrite Digital as its operating brand across all markets, retiring Pyrite Technologies as a client-facing name. The change is a brand decision rather than a corporate restructure. The underlying legal entities, Pyrite Technologies Private Limited in India and Pyrite Technologies LLC in the United States, are unchanged, as are all existing contracts, retainer terms, banking details, and points of contact.
The reason for the new name is straightforward. The company that took the old one in 2012 sold search engine optimization. The company carrying the new one sells organic search, AI search visibility, paid media, content, web development, and marketing technology as a single growth practice. Pyrite Digital describes the shift as moving from an SEO vendor to a full-service digital growth partner, and says the name should say so without a paragraph of explanation attached.
Client-facing systems, reporting dashboards, and the pyritedigital.com domain already carry the new brand. No action is required from existing clients.
Highlight 3: GEO Is Now Standard in Every SEO Engagement
Effective across all client work since June 2026, any engagement covering organic search now automatically covers optimization for AI-powered answer surfaces, among them Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini. There is no separate line item. There is no optional upgrade path. GEO sits inside the foundation of every SEO brief, strategy, and deliverable that leaves the agency.
The decision follows two years of sustained change in how buyers actually search. Google’s rollout of AI Overviews across English-language markets, rapid LLM adoption among B2B and B2C buyers alike, and the spread of zero-click answer surfaces have collectively eroded the value of rank-only thinking. In client verticals spanning travel, jewelry, fashion, and consumer goods, AI-generated answers now intercept between 30 and 60 percent of top-of-funnel queries before a single SERP click occurs.
The numbers inside Pyrite Digital’s own book of business make the case plainly. Across all active retainers, 30 percent of total traffic and revenue now originates from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other LLM-driven referral surfaces. Twelve months ago that figure was close to zero. This is not a forecast the agency is selling against. It is a measured shift that is already underway.
Treating GEO as a bolt-on was always a structural compromise. The signals that earn a brand a citation inside an AI answer, namely topical authority, structured schema, entity consistency, and verified factual presence across trusted third-party sources, are largely the same signals that build durable organic ranking strength. Splitting them across separate service lines produced siloed work and slower results. Unifying them compounds.
What Is Now Standard in Every SEO Engagement

GEO: AI Citation Building
GEO: Entity & Schema Layer
GEO: AI Answer Monitoring
GEO: Voice Share Tracking
In practice, the integrated model means every keyword strategy now carries a parallel AI-prompt layer. Every piece of content is written to satisfy both crawler indexing requirements and LLM retrieval logic. Every link-building campaign doubles as a citation-authority play for AI surfaces. Schema implementation, entity consolidation, and AI answer monitoring are standard SEO deliverables now, not GEO-only extras.
Highlight 4: Strategic Partnership With GazeSEO
To scale that work across a growing client base, Pyrite Digital has entered a strategic partnership with GazeSEO and is now an official GazeSEO partner. GazeSEO is a unified AI search platform that helps content teams plan, write, optimize, and track content for Google alongside AI answer engines including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude. It scores content for SEO, GEO, and AEO readiness before publication, and tracks visibility across both traditional SERPs and AI surfaces.
For Pyrite Digital, the partnership supplies the measurement and production layer that integrated SEO and GEO work has been missing. The agency uses the platform to audit AI citation landscapes, identify which publications and authority sources the major LLMs draw on for a given topic cluster, and build targeted outreach plans that place client brands inside those citation pools. Brand voice configuration and knowledge base indexing let client-specific tone and factual detail carry through content produced at scale.
For clients, the immediate effect is visibility. GazeSEO data feeds directly into ongoing reporting dashboards, giving brands a live view of their AI answer presence next to organic rank positions, rather than the quarterly guesswork that has characterized most AI search reporting to date. The partnership also accelerates the agency’s AEO practice, extending optimization to voice-first and assistant-driven discovery on the same platform that powers its GEO work, so that SEO, GEO, and AEO run as one connected program rather than three products sold separately.

In Practice: A U.S. Heritage Jewelry Brand, Zero to 3X Revenue
The results below come from a live client engagement. The brand, a heritage fine jewelry label with a strong offline reputation and multi-generational provenance, arrived with almost no digital search presence: a Domain Rating of 0, no ranking keywords, and no e-commerce revenue from organic search. Competitors with comparable products were capturing all discovery traffic for high-intent terms including engagement rings, diamond mangalsutra, and Indian jewelry gifts. There was no structured data, no entity presence, and no AI-surface citations whatsoever.
Pyrite Digital deployed a single integrated SEO and GEO program: a technical foundation audit; product schema and entity mapping across gemstone types, metal grades, and occasion categories; content architecture aimed at low-difficulty, high-intent keywords; and an AI citation building push that placed the brand inside the jewelry editorial, gift guides, and heritage publications that LLMs lean on for fine jewelry recommendations.
The Evidence: Verified Platform Data
Total clicks 187K · Impressions 5.87M · Avg. CTR 3.2% · Avg. position 16.2
Clicks 10.6K · Conversions 163 · Cost per conversion ₹253 (approx. US$3) · Spend ₹41.3K (approx. US$495)
Within nine months the brand hit 3X revenue growth and a 10X return on ad spend, with organic search and AI-surface citations operating as one acquisition channel rather than two. Most notably, 30 percent of inbound traffic in the final quarter of the engagement arrived through ChatGPT and other LLM referral sources, driven entirely by the citation building program. Buyers were asking AI assistants for fine jewelry gift recommendations, getting answers that named this brand, and landing on the site already primed to buy.
That pattern now repeats across verticals, according to the agency: AI-referred traffic converts at higher rates than standard organic traffic, because the recommendation has already been made by a source the buyer trusts before the visit happens. Building the citation authority that earns that recommendation is a core SEO deliverable now, not a separate product.
“Every client who walks in for SEO now leaves with a strategy that covers both the world as it is and the world that is already replacing it.”
What This Means for U.S. Clients, Current and Prospective
Existing retainer clients will see GEO deliverables folded into their next strategy cycle with no change to retainer structure or fees, and GazeSEO reporting added to their dashboards at no additional platform cost. New clients onboarding from June 2026 forward receive a unified SEO and GEO baseline audit as the first step of every engagement. That audit maps current organic rankings, identifies AI Overview gaps, assesses entity and schema health, and produces a 90-day integrated action plan covering both ranking improvement and AI citation acquisition.
For U.S. brands in jewelry, fashion, furniture, consumer goods, travel, and luxury retail that have treated AI search visibility as a problem for next year, the window for first-mover advantage is closing. Early citation establishment compounds: models trained on corpora that already include a brand’s citations are likelier to sustain and extend those citations in later training cycles. Late entrants do not simply start behind. They start behind a competitor whose position keeps reinforcing itself.

Scaling GEO and AEO Together
With the GazeSEO partnership in place, Pyrite Digital is scaling Generative Engine Optimization and Answer Engine Optimization as one connected practice rather than sequential product launches. GEO covers the generative answer surfaces that intercept research and consideration queries. AEO extends the same entity, schema, and citation work to voice-first and assistant-driven discovery. Both draw on the same underlying signals, both are measured on the same platform, and both now sit inside the SEO engagement rather than beside it. Further examples of the integrated model in client work are published in the agency’s case studies.
“Fourteen years is long enough to know that the next shift is always closer than it looks. A new name, GEO in every engagement, and the right platform partner are three parts of the same decision. We would rather build for what is coming and be slightly early than sell our clients a service that is quietly expiring.”
